Joshua Williams VP, Acquisitions
Joshua Williams is one of the founding principals of Brookes Investment Group, a real estate investment company extensively focused on student housing real estate investments in the mid-Atlantic, Midwestern, and Southeastern United States. Mr. Williams has an extensive financial background having worked at Shot Tower Capital, a boutique, middle-market, sell-side mergers & acquisition investment bank based in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Williams, since beginning with the firm in 2013 and ending with his tenure in 2019, worked as analyst and an associate alongside a close-knit group of senior partners. During his tenure at the firm, he successfully completed in excess of $2.2 billion in sell-side M&A (as measured by equity proceeds) and led over $1 billion in buy-side engagements in the U.S., Canada, UK, Japan, Hungary, and the Netherlands.
Mr. Williams’ most recent successes include, advising Dutch firm ABP and Imagem Group (Rodgers & Hammerstein, Boosey & Hawkes, and Imagem Pop) on its sale to Concord Music Group; advising on a sale involving a 10% interest of a broader consortium exit of EMI to Sony Corp.; advising a SPAC and large multi-national media company separately on their pursuit of a Canadian rights management company; and advising NY-based media conglomerate on its pursuit of AVL Digital.
Mr. Williams currently resides in Baltimore with his girlfriend and their golden retriever. He is a supporter of the Aspire Rescue Coalition and the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore.
